Conscious Living

Greenhouse Grille located in Fayeteville, Arkansas is more than a restaurant. When owners Jerrmy Gawthrop and Clayton Suttle decided to open the establishment, they were simply putting beliefs of their own into action. "Sustainable living, good food and fun is something that we strive for in life. We wanted to make those same elements a priority at our restaurant," comments Jerrmy. As soon as you walk through the front doors, you can feel that the dream is quickly becoming a reality. The structure of Greenhouse Grille as well as the landscape was built keeping the environment in mind. The food comes from local farms, the wine and beer was hand-selected... everything has a purpose.

Jerrmy comments that the idea was "simply to do something good and hopefully people catch on."

Speaking from experience, the food is Good! It is packed with flavor and unlike most places I dine out, I know what I'm eating and where the produce, as well as where the meat originated.

Specials run all the time, depending on what's in season. If you go, I suggest the shitake fries to start.
They also have a great brunch, which includes all of your favorites, plus a Vegetable Ozark Hash. Curious? GO!

Enjoy live music 3 to 4 days a week, your favorite wine and food that is good for you- inside and out!

Naturally...

Doutzen Kroes, Elle France October 2010

The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first. -Jim Morrison

Leah Dieterich's mother always told her to write thank you notes. So she does. Everyday. thxthxthx is her daily exercise in gratitude.

I am thankful for so many things in my life! Health, family, friends and my wonderful doggie, Addie are just to name a few!

Love, from Denmark

The other day I came across this artist from Denmark. Oh Land, is an ex-ballerina turned electro-pop starlet. Her self-produced album, Fauna debuted in 2008. The album provides an upbeat hybrid of electro-beats and wistful lyrics. Her first US single, "Son of a Gun," is currently streaming on my computer and I can't seem to get enough of it!

It's Wednesday...

And I'm having one of those days...
I feel like I need a re-do. Perhaps a nice dinner and wine will make up for the "off" day?

Fashion Week, How I love thee...

Anna Sui Spring 2011, Rodarte Spring 2011 via New York Magazine

It's almost the end of the week, thank God! I am running low on energy and the only things I seem to be thinking about these days happen to be work and fashion week, which do coincide a little. As I have been pouring over every show from Rodarte to Marc Jacobs, I notice the 70's are coming back in what appears to be full swing. Even Anna Sui seems to be on the train, citing inspiration for her collection from the 1978, Terrance Malick movie, Days of Heaven. For spring, I think it's safe to say that vintage threads are back.

FNO

Happy Friday everyone! Tonight is Fashion's Night Out around the globe.

Last year, Anna Wintour had the idea to kick-off fashion week with a night out on the town and this year, it's back! The stores will be open later and people will be celebrating fashion around the world from London, Tokyo, Paris, New York to right here in Houston.

If you're in Houston, stop by the Galleria for cocktails, bites and fashion!
Other locations include the Billy Reid boutique, 310 Rosemont, as well as Rebecca & Drew, all located in the River Oaks Shopping Center.

Happy Weekend!

Grilling Peaches...

While they're still in season enjoy this recipe for grilled peaches and prosciutto from Whole Living.

If you would rather have peaches for dessert try the recipe and add some vanilla ice cream. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Anthropologie + Wanderlust

Anthropologie's September 2010 catalog boasts an inspiring setting against the mountains. The photos were shot on a ranch outside of Buenos Aires. Knit jackets, leathers and soft colors hit the right note, giving the catalog an equestrian, fall feel.
